Foi feita uma breve introdução ao uso do telescópio e iniciaram as observações. Compararam as suas observações com os guias fornecidos e efectuaram o registo de duas das espécies observada. Conta com o acompanhamento técnico do LabOr – Laboratório de Ornitologia da Universidade de Évora e o apoio logístico da autarquia. Várias turmas do 2º e 3º ciclo, estiveram envolvidas na montagem dos ninhos.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; Os ninhos foram colocados em local elevado, pouco exposto e sem ramos que dessem acesso fácil a predadores (como gatos).&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; Haverá monitorização da eventual ocupação dos ninhos através de visitas periódicas que envolverão observação com recurso a binóculos, uma webcam com luz própria ligada a um pc portátil e fichas de registo de dados. Sobre isto alerta-nos, e bem, Luís Filipe Oliveira em “Educação Ambiental – um guia prático para professores, monitores e animadores culturais e de tempos livres”, editado pela Texto Editora, em 1992. Embora proponha diversas actividades com recurso às aves não deixa de reforçar a necessidade de, na escola, evitarmos cair em excessos, tornando a matéria muito especializada, como é disso muitas vezes exemplo a actividade de observação de aves.&lt;br /&gt;   Também a esse propósito relevo-as apenas como um meio, um instrumento eficaz: com elas facilmente viajamos pela História, pelas Artes ou pelas Ciências Exactas. São uma recompensa para atingirmos tarefas formais, mais exigentes e rigorosas mas também para alcançar visões holísticas. O seu contributo é igualmente essencial para mobilizar para a compreensão da Ecologia, do delicado equilíbrio da relação Homem – Natureza, da Biologia das espécies que com elas convivem, da leitura das paisagens e dos agroecossistemas nelas implicados.&lt;br /&gt;   Aliás, divagando um pouco...sobre a interpretação da paisagem e da compreensão do uso da terra pelo Homem reencontrei, um destes dias, Orlando Ribeiro e a sua obra-prima “Portugal – o Mediterrâneo e o Atlântico”. É um livro-lugar onde todos deveríamos ir beber regularmente sob pena de esquecermos como tudo era e evoluiu antes de ser betão, alcatrão e barragens.&lt;br /&gt;   Esvoacei depois noutra publicação interessantíssima, o Atlas das Aves nidificantes em Portugal, para o qual tive o prazer de contribuir com trabalho de campo. Também nos seus capítulos se reforçam as Aves como matéria que nos conduz para uma leitura que está longe de ser redutora ou especialista: biogeografia; bioclimatologia; a paisagem vegetal e o uso do território ao longo do tempo; os impactos das alterações nas zonas húmidas, das florestações extensas, das alterações na agricultura e pastorícia, das alterações climáticas, etc.&lt;br /&gt;   Mas como procurava uma obra mais acessível aos meus alunos, acabei pousando o olhar em “Portugal Animal” da Clara Pinto Correia – era o que pretendia. Não é um guia de espécies, é antes um guia para a compreensão dos ecossistemas portugueses, com especial relevo para os agrossistemas e para a relação do Homem com a Natureza. A habilidade para apreciar, compor ou reproduzir sons é feito pelo apelo ao uso apurado da audição, da interpretação de sons, do registo de mnemónicas e analogias com sons já conhecidos. A inteligência verbal-linguística tem o seu espaço num diário de observações onde se registam dados sobre a espécie e o seu habitat, relatos da saída de campo, descrição de comportamentos, etc. A tendência lógico-matemática centrada nos padrões, ordem e sistematização tem a sua oportunidade nos censos de invernada ou de nidificação, nas contagens de indivíduos por métodos variados, na obtenção de frequências, abundâncias e densidades; nas comparações entre habitats, espécies, bandos ou diferentes épocas, gráficos e diagramas. O uso do corpo e a habilidade para o coordenar e controlar é aqui alvo de diferentes solicitações: caminhadas, deslocações em bicicleta ou iniciações em canoagem ou escalada – também o comportamento das aves são matéria rica para dramatizações ou coreografias. Na dinâmica destes pequenos grupos, a inteligência interpessoal é explorada na relação interpares, na aprendizagem cooperativa e nos momentos de mútuo-ensino. Os cadernos de campo de biólogos e naturalistas mostram-nos registos que vão muito além de observações objectivas – os “estados de alma” ou as preferências pessoais por particularidades da natureza são o nicho da componente intrapessoal. Dedicarmo-nos à causa do desenvolvimento sustentável, escutar e aprender a compreender diferentes perspectivas é fundamental para entender o elo entre preservação das espécies e seus habitats e a resolução dos problemas sócio-económicos. O estudo das aves ao proporcionar diversas abordagens científicas, pedagógicas e culturais, traduzidas numa riqueza de metodologias, instrumentos, ritmos e dinâmicas, é um contributo a considerar no leque de respostas para uma educação diferenciada e pluridimensional. Constitui igualmente uma oportunidade ímpar de envolver entusiasticamente os encarregados de educação numa participação activa e frutífera no processo educativo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Este é um tema de alternâncias: entre trabalho em ambiente laboratorial, sala e campo, entre momentos de silêncio e de agitação, entre trabalho individual e de grupo, entre visão das partes e do todo, entre ambiente informal e comportamento metódico.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O estudo da migração das aves, as extinções ao longo da História, a distinção dos cantos das aves e dos seus comportamentos, os desafios da Conservação ou a história da actividade cinegética são apenas exemplos de itens que relevam este tema como pluridisciplinar.
